Lori and I have been informed by many people and have read that babies go through a lot of diapers. So we have been stocking up. When we have a coupon (and money) we will pickup a pack of diapers. We are not brand or type specific because we don’t know what the babies will and won’t like. We have also started getting different sizes. Currently we have:
Newborn = 228
Infant #1 = 92
Infant #1-2 = 264
Infant #2 = 84
Total of 668 diapers!
Now I just did some research to get an idea of what we might expect to actually need as far as diapers. I found information everywhere, but http://www.diaperingdecisions.com/VirtuesOfCloth.htm broke everything down quite well. The following information is based on their numbers:
Newborn (first 2 weeks) = 196 (14 per day)
Infant #1 (first 3 months) = 825 (11 per day)
Infant #2 (3-6 months) = 990 (11 per day)
Infant #3 (6-9 months) = 810 (9 per day)
Infant #4 (9-12 months) = 720 (8 per day)
Toddler #5 (12-18 months) = 1,260 (7 per day)
Child #6 (18-30 months) = 2,548 (7 per day)
TOTALLING = 7,349 Diapers PER BABY!!!!!
{Sigh!} We will need:
Newborn = 588
Infant #1 = 2,475
Infant #2 = 2,970
Infant #3 = 2,430
Infant #4 = 2,160
Toddler #5 = 3,780
Child #6 = 7,644
TOTALLING = 22,047 Diapers!!!
Only 21,379 diapers to go!
